Upcoming October Meeting

The next regular meeting of the Prescott Corral of Westerners is set for Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Kuykendall Community Center (formerly Prescott Centennial Center), 1989 Clubhouse Drive near the E.A. Love Airfield.

Ray Herbeck will discuss John Riley, a former Private in the 5th U.S. Infantry, who formed a battalion of U.S. Army deserters and defected captives, known as the San Patricios, to fight against the U.S. in the Mexican War of 1846-1848. This little-known episode in America’s past will be of interest to all Western history enthusiasts.

Ray Herbeck, a Prescott resident, is a 20-year veteran writer, producer and technical advisor of historical films, including working as Associate Producer for the Oscar-winning movie, “Glory.” He is a director of Prescott’s Western Heritage Foundation and a member of the Western Writers of America.
