**A Message from Our Sheriff**

**O.K. Corral.
No. Not the infamous gunfight in Tombstone, but you folks. Our October 1st Corral meeting is one of our 1800’s Dress Up Nights. I encourage all of you to dress up in 1800’s attire. Consider showing up dressed in your 1800’s Sunday best formal wear, everyday “townsperson” attire, military uniforms of the period, working cowboy, bad guy, gambler or dance hall girl. Your choice. If you aren’t going to dress up, please consider dressing in modern day Western attire. You’ll stick out like a sore thumb if you don’t.

This Dress Up Night should be a lot of fun with it coinciding with the ladies from “Stepping
Off the Page”!

Of the more then 398 National Days, 39 Weekly Observances and 56 Monthly Observances listed for October 2026 at today.com, they didn’t list a holiday I celebrate on the 4th every year as a retired CHP Officer; Broderick Crawford Day. 10-4? Yeah, I made that up myself. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the 7th is You Matter to Me Day (And you do!), Columbus Day/National Indigenous Peoples Day falls on Monday the 13th, **The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral took place on October 25, 1881, and Halloween is on Saturday the 31st.

We are still in need of someone to volunteer to be our 2027 Deputy Sheriff. Please let me know if you are interested.
