Prescott Corral Supports Western Heritage Center Scholarships
Among the western history-related organizations and causes that the Prescott Corral of Westerners supports with annual donations is the Western Heritage Center’s Scholarship program. On February 1, 2026, the Corral’s 2026 Sheriff and the three immediate past Sheriffs attended a scholarship event at the Western Heritage Center. Pictured are (l.to r.) Fred Veil Honored with Westerners International’s Living Legends AwardÂ
At the May, 2024, Prescott Corral of Westerners’ meeting, Sheriff Shelly Dannatt presented a plaque to long-time Corral member, Fred Veil, commemorating his selection by Westerners International as a recipient of the organization’s Living Legends Award. Past Sheriff of the Prescott Corral, founding member of our annual Western History Symposium, co-creator of the Territorial Times magazine, a contributor to the Arizona History Convention and former Director of the Sharlot Hall Museum, Fred is a true Living Legend both to our organization and to the Prescott community.
